Thanks for your support Lost Creek!
Through the special Benevolence Offering we CAN make
a difference!
Community Volunteers: Many Lost Creek members volunteer
their time and talents at community agencies and activities in the Perkins
and Stillwater area.
-
UMCOR Disaster Relief Program - UMCOR is sthe United Methodist Committee
on Relief. This year the conference is working on several different kits
that are part of the "Sustaining Everyday Life" program. These kits
include School, Layette, Dewing, Health, Beddings and Flood Bucket kits.
See the events page and check out the weekly opportunity spotlight link
for Lost Creek's participation in this area.
-
Angel Tree - Lost Creek works with Prison Fellowship and the Oklahoma
United Methodist Justice and Mercy Ministries to provide Christmas gifts
for 40-50 children of incarcerated parents.
-
Cookson Hills Center - This ministers to low income families of
Cherokee, Adair and Sequoyah counties. Last year over 250 families were
able to celebrate Christmas with your help. You can let your light illuminate
by bring new, unwrapped gifts for every age - toys, clothing, tools, ball,
household items, mittens/gloves and hats. Your items can be placed in the
box in the foyer area through the first Sunday in November. October is
designated as the Cookson Hills Month at Lost Creek.
-
Adopt-A-Resident at Grace Living Center. Would you like to share
some joy and cheer with someone in need? Then the Adopt-A-Resident program
is just the thing for you! There are individuals who have no family close
by, no family who visits, negative family contacts, or just have extra
need. Your visit would mean so much to them! If you would like to be a
part of this rewarding program, contact Kathleen Woods at 377-0659.
-
Local Outreach/Helping Hands - Helping with special needs of our
Lost Creek family: yard work, household chores, food or visits for a specific
time of need.
-
Relay for Life - We participate as a team and collect funds throughout
the year in support of the American Cancer Society.
-
Stillwater Mission of Hope & Domestic Violence Shelters. Furnishing
several needed items to help these shelters.
Food Pantry: A large food pantry supplies needed food to dozens
of families each month. Last month over 170 families were given a hands
up support from our food closet.
Vocational Work in Parguay: Lost Creek financially supports
John Eisenberg in who is currently doing vocational training and evangelism
in Paraguay.
Volunteers in Mission: Dozens of Lost Creek members spread
over the globe doing hand-on mission work. Areas of primary focus include
building homes in Mexico and conducting VBS, Sports Camp Outreach, and/or
Music Ministry in Belize. The next schedule Belize Mission Trip is July
2006. Each year adults and youth alike volunteer to do inner city
mission work in Oklahoma City through Youth Force. Smaller groups and individuals
also participate in many other mission activities. |
